Academic Half Day: Hypertension

We will be discussing Hypertension during this week’s Academic Half Day. Below you will find a reading list consisting of primary literature and review articles. The highest yield is the NEJM review and 2017 ACC Guildlines.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Diagnose hypertension accurately using ACC/AHA guidelines

  2. Prescribe initial therapy for HTN in the outpatient setting

  3. Recognize triggers for secondary hypertension evaluation

  4. Differentiate different types of severe HTN and manage using evidence-based strategies
