RSV for Babies -
Beyfortus (monoclonal antibody) was recently approved and recommended to prevent severe RSV disease in infants under 8 months old entering their first RSV season or infants aged 8-19 months old at increased risk of severe RSV disease entering their second RSV season.
- It comes in 2 doses: < 5 kg or > 5kg.Lead Process
1. Pre-chart and identify if a patient needs lead screening.
2. Determine if you will order CBC/lead from the lab or POC lead.
3. Update Care Coordination note to reflect need for POC lead.
4. Follow-up on results!

Unsure what to do with a Hgb C trait or other abnormal hemoglobinopathy panel? Family asking questions about risk stratification? CCHMC will provide counseling! We have two options -
1. Submit a referral to CCHMC Heme-Onc for hemoglobinopathy trait counseling services
2. Submit a referral directly to the counseling program (fax to 513-636-1775)
They can counsel families/patients of any age, not just newborns. Once counseled, a note will be entered into EPIC and a trait fact sheet along with a copy of the patient's hemoglobin electrophoresis (if available), will be emailed to the family.Email Deidra Haygood at Deidra.Haygood@cchmc.org or call her office at 513-636-3472 with any questions.
